COMPANY HISTORY
Ponderosa Timber was established in 1956 by the Dwyer family and was the first company treating timber in south east Victoria.
Over many years of timber manufacture and treatment Ponderosa Timber has built a reputation for suppling only quality treated timber products.
In the 1990’s Ponderosa Timber ceased treating at Kooweerup due to environmental restraints. Therefore a need to find sub-suppliers of similar quality treated products was embarked on.
In 1996 an association was formed with Gippsland Treated Pine who like Ponderosa Timber strived only to supply quality products.
In March 2000, the Heywood family (owners of Gippsland Treated Pine ) purchased Ponderosa Timber.
Since then, at the Gippsland Treated Pine site in Morwell we have installed a new treatment facility to treat in the traditional methods using copper chrome arsenic (CCA) chemicals and also for timber to be used in more sensitive application, a new preservative chemical called alkaline copper quaternary (ACQ) which is a non arsenic based chemical.

GENERAL INFORMATION
At Ponderosa Timber we service all types of customers whether they be retail, trade, D.I.Y. or contractor; in fact any one with a need for timber products and supplies.
We have a huge range of products available, for example Treated Pine Poles and Timber, Hardwood, Dressed Pine, Oregon, Gates, Wire and a full Hardware range only to mention a few.
With our personal approach, Orders can be placed over the phone for collection or we are able to deliver anywhere in Victoria or even interstate.
